There's a baby on board!

Because we live hours away from so many of our family & friends, I decided a blog would be a great way for all of you to have a closer look into what's going on with Baby Ripley, Mommy & Daddy as we anxiously await & prepare for January 2, 2011.

November

So much has happened this month & it's only 10 days in! Brett's parent bought us our stroller travel system & we purchased our car seat for Kinsley. Then, I came back from travel one night & Kinsley's bedding had been shipped too! I'm so excited to really start seeing her baby things in the house, it's making things seem so much more real.

Brett actually steam-cleaned & painted her room while I was gone traveling several weeks ago. What a help that was, that's when things really started taking off on her room. We also hung some things on the walls this past weekend, shelf, her name, picture frames, etc. My parents bought her crib & it should be here in the next couple of days. Then, her nursery will basically be finished!.. only thing missing, KINSLEY!

Last Saturday we had child-birth class. It was seven hours long, but so absolutely worth it. We learned soo much & my favorite part, the tour we received of the OB-floor where we'll be delivering/staying for a few nights after the baby. It made me so much more comfortable. The class did, however, believe it or not, talk me out of getting an epidural. I'm going to try with all my might to have Kinsley all natural. Of course I'm willing to adjust that plan if need be, but I really hope I can do this. "Eye on the prize" I keep telling myself! The one part of class I don't think I'll ever forget, the part where the 'partners' had to stare in the mommy-to-be's eyes & say positive things for 90 seconds(or the time of an average contraction). Brett made me cry, well & laugh. He's going to be so wonderful in labor & delivery, I'm so thankful for such a strong supporter through all of this.

My mom & aunt have been planning my baby shower in Wheeling with friends & family of Brett & I's families. I managed to get all the invites in the mail today. It's only a few weeks away & I'm so excited!! I've never had anything like that before for ME (well I guess it's moreso for Kinsley), but I can't wait to see all the presents Kinsley gets!

To top it all off, new job! Geeesh. Following my maternity leave, I'll start work at West Virginia Wesleyan College where Brett works, in his office. I can't believe we're going to be co-workers. This is going to be so wonderful though for our little family. I feel like we're finally headed in the right direction.

So far November is off to a great start, just as I suspected. I've been dying for it to get here since August-ish. One more week of travel, only one more night in a hotel, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, showers are coming up & Kinsley is just weeks away. Brett & I are so blessed :)
