Country Music & 16 week check-up

Mommy, daddy and baby all survivied 2 big concerts in Wheeling & Pittsburgh as well as a week at Jamboree in the Hills! Whoo hoo! Our baby is SURE to like country music after all this excitement! Brett & I even decided that we may have the next George Strait on our hands. I thought JITH would be hard, not being able to drink & being around thousands of drunks. But it wasn't too bad at all. I only had to yell at a few drunk guys. Otherwise, everyone was real sweet about it & Brett's brother (Chase) & sister (Ashton) almost bought me non-alcoholic beer so that I would fit in! haha. Instead, they did let me participate in drinking games with my water and/or gatorade. Brett would even left up my shirt at the concert & spray my belly with his squirt bottle because "Baby was hot." He's so darn sweet & constantly keeps me smiling. All in all, it was a great time & we're already ready for next year!

Yesterday, we had our monthly check-up. My blood pressure is normal, weight normal & so was baby's heartrate. I had about 5 or 6 tubes of blood drawn to test for different disease and abnormalities and we go back on the 2nd to go over all of that information with the doctor. And the biggest/best news of the day.. we're having our second trimester ultrasound on August 10th!!! I am so excited to hopefully find out if it's a boy or a girl. We're really pushing for a boy but my instincts are telling me our spare bedroom is going to be turning into a little boy's baseball themed room here before long! :)

The good news, my director is just as anxious as I am to find out what we're having because she has a 6 year old little boy, Graham. She has tons and tons and tons of little boy clothes to give to me, so she's really banking on Baby Ripley so she can clean out her house! haha.

All in all, things are great! Heading to Wheeling this weekend for Annie's bridal shower. Brett and I are REALLY looking forward to next weekend because we have NO PLANS & have NOTHING TO DO & NO WHERE TO GO! First time ALL summer!!!!!!! Lots of relaxing will be going on that's for sure! I think we're even going to have a yardsale for some extra cash & to get rid of some things in the house that are entirely unnecessary these days (like our extra couch/chair set). Just about half way there!!!
